Please take the time to read the rules as it is essential that all instructions are followed.
DRESSAGE RULES
• You may ride in everyday tack and clothing, however gloves must be worn at all times.
• Riding hats must meet current safety standards and carry an approved safety mark for your country.
• There are no bit restrictions and bitless bridles are welcome.
• No training aids are permitted other than martingales.
• Whips and spurs are permitted.
• You do not need to ride in a formal arena, however your riding area must be marked out with the correct measurements and arena letters (or clear substitutes) to allow accurate judging.
• Competitors may use a caller, however no other outside assistance is permitted.
• Tests will be judged in the traditional manner using score sheets and feedback forms. These will be emailed once judging has been completed.
• Previously entered or previously judged videos must not be reused.
VIDEO GUIDELINES
Please film your test following the guidelines below:
• Videos must be filmed in a correctly measured 20m x 40m or 20m x 60m arena layout, either on grass or in a school / arena.
• The videographer must remain behind the letter C throughout the test.
• Videos must be filmed in landscape orientation.
• Your horse should remain clearly visible and centred within the video where possible.
• Zoom should only be used if necessary to ensure the judge can clearly see the movements.
• Please use the highest video quality available on your device.
• Videos must include sound and must not contain any edits or cuts.
• Recording must remain continuous from just before entering at A until after the final halt and salute.
• YouTube videos must be uploaded as Public or Unlisted. Please do not upload videos as Private, as judges will be unable to access them. Youtube video names must be in the following format:
NAME, HORSES NAME, THE MANE SHOW, MONTH & CLASS YOU HAVE ENTERED
Once uploaded, please send your video link along with:
• Rider name
• Email address for scoresheet to be returned to
• Horse/Pony name
• Address
• Payment confirmation
Payment details will be provided upon entry.
