Entries close at 8pm on the 4th January - Results will be published between the 5th -7th January

Please note: All entries to The Mane Show will appear in the public domain and by entering you are accepting this condition.

 

We run an annual points-based ACCUMALATOR competition, giving you the opportunity to win more rosettes and prizes!

Every time you are placed in a class, you are awarded points on the accumulator score board. Full details can be found here.

SCHEDULE

Horses, ponies, donkeys & mules are ALL welcome.

Rosettes to 8th place in each class and the winner receives a prize and free entry into the Arena Championship.

Arena's 1,2 & 3: Photo Classes - Entry Fee: £3.50

Arena 4: Video Classes - Entry Fee: £5

ARENA 1 - Traditional Showing Breeds & Types

​

Class 1 – Best Ridden Horse or Pony (Photos of the horse ridden under saddle)

Open to all breeds and types. To be judged on conformation, way of going, and overall wow factor!

A full body photo is required and you may submit ready-made collage photos if you feel this best shows your horse or pony's type to the judge.

First prize:  A Mane Show Equestrian Medal

 

Class 2 - Best In Hand Horse or Pony (Photos of the horse inhand)

Open to all breeds and types. To be judged on conformation and overall wow factor!

A full body photo is required and you may submit ready-made collage photos if you feel this best shows your horse or pony's type to the judge. 

First prize: A Mane Show Equestrian Medal

Class 3 - Best Veteran age 15 + (Horses and ponies over the age of 15)Sponsored by The Ripley Collection 

Ridden, Inhand, at liberty, or driven

You can choose any type of photo that you feel best shows off your veteran horse.

Please include your horses age with your entry.

Ready-made collage photos are allowed.

First prize: An item from The Ripley Collection's Bespoke Equestrian Jewellery

Class 4 - Anything Irish (Full/Part Bred)

Inhand, Ridden, Driven or at liberty. Irish Sports Horse, Connemara, Irish Cob, Irish Draught, Gypsy Vanner

A full body photo is required and you may submit ready-made collage photos if you feel this best shows your horse or pony's type

First prize: A Mane Show Equestrian Medal

 

Class 5 - Best All Rounder (Horses & ponies suitable for a variety of activities)

Ready-made collages are encouraged and should ideally show your horse or pony taking part in a variety of equestrian disciplines.

First prize: A Slow Feed Haynet

 

Class 6 - Best UK Native - Open to all full & Part Breds

Ridden, Inhand, driven or at liberty. To be judged on the best true to type, conformation and wow factor.

A full body photo is required and you may submit ready-made collage photos if you feel this best shows your horse or pony's type

First prize: A Mane Show Equestrian Medal

Class 7 - Alternative Horsemanship 

Show us your non 'traditional' or combined alternative and traditional equestrian skills. Bitless, horse agility, bareback, bridle free, iron free, liberty work, and halter training etc. Pictures may be ridden, driven, in hand, or at liberty. Collages must be submitted ready-made.

First Prize: A Mane Show Equestrian Medal

Class 8 - Arena 1 CHAMPIONSHIP 

All those placed 1st or 2nd in classes 1 - 7 and 25 (video class from arena 4) will automatically be entered into this Championship class free of charge. The Champion and Reserve Champion will be awarded a luxury rosette.

The Champion will go forward to be judged for SUPREME CHAMPION of the show

ARENA 2 - Colours, Condition & Conformation

Class 9 - Condition and Turn out

To be judged on overall condition and presentation of the horse and rider/handler. Show attire not essential.

A full body photo is required and you may submit ready-made collage photos if you feel this best shows your horse or pony to the judge. 

First prize: A 1kg tub of 365Complete (a superb high spec feed balancer helping keep horses in peak condition)

 

Class 10 –  Prettiest Mare

Submit a SINGLE photo showing off your mare or filly at her prettiest!  

First prize: A Mane Show Equestrian Medal

Class 11 -  Most Handsome, Stallion, Colt or Gelding 

Submit a SINGLE photo showing off your gelding, stallion or colt at their most handsome!

Class 12 - Best Monochrome

Entrants should submit a SINGLE black & white photo which will be judged on its artistic merits and overall wow factor

A SINGLE FULL BODY photo showing off your horse

Class will be judged on conformation, condition, colour, markings and overall wow factor.

Show us those hairy beasts! Collage photos are allowed and must be submitted readymade..

Frosty mornings, snowy scenes, crisp fields etc -show us your best equestrian winter scene. SINGLE photo required

Class 19 - Best Calendar Shot (December) 

Submit a SINGLE photo of the best equine calendar shot suitable for the month of December. No edits please. The photo must represent the country you are entering from.

As the title suggests! Use your imagination to make the judges smile

Ready-made collages, single photos and edited photos are permitted.

Christmas themed photos of your horse celebrating Christmas, you may also be in the photo as well. Ready made collage allowed.

A class to show off you partnership with your horse. The judge will be looking to see the relationship and love shared between you and your horse.  Entrants may submit a single photo or a ready made collage.

Class 23 – Christmas Horsey Selfie

 Get clicking! This class is self-explanatory - submit your best Christmas horsey selfie. Entrants should submit a single photo.

Class 24 - Arena 3 CHAMPIONSHIP - All those placed 1st or 2nd in classes 17-23  will automatically be entered in to this championship class free of charge.

The Champion and Reserve Champion will be awarded a luxury rosette.  

The Champion will go forward to be judged for SUPREME CHAMPION of the show

ARENA 4 - Video  Classes

Class 25 Horse Agility  Video £5.00

Run in partnership with The International Horse Agility Club. Course plan and judged by Ellen Cochrane  Full instructions of course layout need to be followed. Free photo entry to class winner, rosettes to 8th place. Horse Agility Course Plan December

The Horse Agility Accumulator will run from January 2024 - November 2024. Participant need to complete 6 competitions to qualify within the qualifying period. ENTRIES CLOSE ON THE 31st December 8PM

Class Criteria: Anything pet/animal related at Christmas you may spot while out and about during the festive season. Maybe you will spot Santa's reindeer!

Class 34 Best In Show

Best In Show Championship 1st placed entrants from classes 27-33 will automatically be entered in to this championship class free of charge. The overall winner will be crowned Best In Show and there will also be a Reserve. Both will receive a Over the back Sash and Championship Rosette.

 

 

Class 35 - SUPREME CHAMPIONSHIP - ALL the Arena Champions will be automatically entered into this class

The winner will be crowned "SUPREME CHAMPION" of the show and be awarded a super Luxurious rosette and a Supreme Champion sash.

IMPORTANT - Please follow these instructions carefully to ensure that your entry and payment is received.

1. Send your photo by email to enter@themaneshow.co.uk or by private message at www.facebook.com/themaneshow

2. If you are entering multiple classes please ensure that each photo is clearly named including the class number

3. Your email MUST also include the following information, so we can link your entry with payment:

  • The class number

  • Your name

  • Your address

  • Horses name

  • PayPal email address

 

SHOWING VIDEO ENTRIES - £5 per class (Gift vouchers accepted)

1. Ensure your video privacy settings are set to public and the video length is no longer than 4 minutes

2. Send your video, video link or YouTube URL:

  • The class number

  • Your name

  • Your address

  • Horses name

RULES 

  • You can ride in your everyday tack & clothes, there are no bit restrictions, and you are also welcome to ride bitless 

  • No artificial aids other than martingales are permitted

  • Whips and spurs are allowed

  • You do not need to ride in an arena

  • We encourage everyone taking part in the video showing to update their videos regularly

  • You are welcome to enter as many classes as you like

 

VIDEO GUIDELINES

  • Your horse should remain in the centre of the video at all times

  • You should aim for the horse to be filling no more than half of the height of the picture where possible

  • Video in the best possibly quality that your device allows

  • Sound to be recorded 

  • The video must remain recording continuously from just before the horse begins until after the final halt

 

PICTURE GUIDELINES

  • The picture to be close enough so that it is clear to be seen by the judge

  • Use in the best quality possible that your device allows
