Please note: All entries to The Mane Show will appear in the public domain and by entering you are accepting this condition.

We run an annual points-based ACCUMALATOR competition, giving you the opportunity to win more rosettes and prizes!

Every time you are placed in a class, you are awarded points on the accumulator score board. Full details can be found here.

SCHEDULE

Horses, ponies, donkeys & mules are ALL welcome.

Rosettes to 8th place in each class and the winner receives a prize and free entry into the Arena Championship.

Arena's 1,2 & 3: Photo Classes - Entry Fee: £3.50

Arena 4: Video Classes - Entry Fee: £5

ARENA 1 - Traditional Showing Breeds & Types

Class 1 – Best Ridden Horse or Pony (Photo/s of the horse ridden under saddle)

Ready-made collages are encouraged and should ideally show your horse or pony taking part in at least 3 different activities.

First prize: A slow feed Haynet

Class 6 Best UK Native - Open to all full & Part Breds

Ridden, Inhand, driven or at liberty. To be judged on the best true to type, conformation and wow factor.

A full body photo is required and you may submit ready-made collage photos if you feel this best shows your horse or pony's type

First prize: A Mane Show Equestrian Medal

Class 7 - Foreign Breeds

Open to all foreign breeds/part breeds. To be judged on conformation and overall wow factor! A full body photo is required and you may submit collage photos if you feel this best shows your horse/pony's type to the judge. Photos may be ridden, In hand, or at liberty

First prize: A Mane Show Equestrian Medal

Class 8 - Welsh Breeds - Open to all Welsh part/full bred ponies.

You can choose any type of photos that you feel best shows off your pony. Entries must include a full body photo. Photos can be of horses ridden/in hand/at liberty/driven.

First Prize: A Mane Show Equestrian Medal.

Class 9 - Arena 1 CHAMPIONSHIP

All those placed 1st or 2nd in classes 1 - 8 and 28 (video class from arena 4) will automatically be entered into this Championship class free of charge. The Champion and Reserve Champion will be awarded a luxury rosette.

The Champion will go forward to be judged for SUPREME CHAMPION of the show

ARENA 2 - Colours, Condition & Conformation

Class 10 - Condition and Turn out

To be judged on overall condition and presentation of the horse and rider/handler. Show attire not essential.

A full body photo is required and you may submit ready-made collage photos if you feel this best shows your horse or pony

Class 11 – Prettiest Mare

Submit a SINGLE photo showing off your mare or filly at her prettiest!

First prize: A Mane Show Equestrian Medal

Class 12 - Most Handsome, Stallion, Colt or Gelding

Submit a SINGLE photo showing off your gelding, stallion or colt at their most handsome!

First prize: A Mane Show Equestrian Medal

Class 17 - Solid Colour

A SINGLE FULL BODY photo showing off your horse

Class will be judged on conformation, condition, colour, markings and overall wow factor.

First prize: A Mane Show Equestrian Medal

Class 14 - Over The Stable Door Sponsored Rachels Makery

Submit a SINGLE photo of your horse or pony looking out over the stable door.

First prize: A Mane Show Equestrian Medal

Class 15 – Trottastic

Enter just a SINGLE picture of your equine in trot! Ridden, in hand, driven, or at liberty

Class 16 - Best Canter or Gallop

Enter just a SINGLE picture of your equine cantering or galloping

Class 17 - Solid Colour

Enter either a single photo or a readymade collage that sums up your 2023 horsey year.

Submit a SINGLE photo of your best calendar shot suitable for the month of June (No edits) This class will run every month this year for the current month

As the title suggests! Use your imagination to make the judges smile

Show us what festive fun you have been up to over Christmas with your horses

Class 25 - Christmas Horsey Selfie

Get clicking! This class is self-explanatory - submit your best Christmas horsey selfie. Entrants should submit a single photo.

Class 26 - Festive Pet of The Month - A special class just for our special pets

Whether they enjoy being around the horses or happier at home we would love to meet them and this month they can be dressed for ready for Christmas.

Class 27 - Arena 3 CHAMPIONSHIP - All those placed 1st or 2nd in classes 19-26 will automatically be entered in to this championship class free of charge. The Champion and Reserve Champion will be awarded a luxury rosette

The Champion will go forward to be judged for SUPREME CHAMPION of the show

ARENA 4 - Video Showing Classes

Class 28 will be included in Arena 1 Championship.

Class 28 – In Hand Showing (video) - Open to all types and breeds

To be judged on conformation, condition, movement and type.
Entrants to produce a video to include the following:

1. Halt at start and end of show (video side view of halt)

2. Walk away several strides (video to show horse walking away in a straight line from camera)

3. Walk right several strides to give a view of the horse walking from the side

(so the side of horse in nearest the camera - imagine walking a triangle)

4. Walk back towards camera (horse walking towards the camera in a straight line)

5. Repeat above in trot - trot away, trot right and back

6. Halt - move around horse with camera so conformation can be captured from front, both sides and behind horse

Video must not be longer than 4 mins. YouTube link added on entry.

First prize: A Mane Show Medal

Class 30 - SUPREME CHAMPIONSHIP - ALL the Arena Champions will be automatically entered into this class

The winner will be crowned "Supreme Champion" of the show and awarded a super Luxurious rosette and a Supreme Champion sash.

DECEMBER 2023 Entries close at 10pm 4th Jan - Results will be published between 5th -7th Jan

IMPORTANT - Please follow these instructions carefully to ensure that your entry and payment is received.

1. Send your photo by email to enter@themaneshow.co.uk or by private message at www.facebook.com/themaneshow

2. If you are entering multiple classes please ensure that each photo is clearly named including the class number

3. Your email MUST also include the following information, so we can link your entry with payment:

The class number
Your name
Your address
Horses name
PayPal email address

SHOWING VIDEO ENTRIES - £5 per class (Gift vouchers accepted)

IMPORTANT - Please follow these instructions carefully to ensure that your entry and payment is received.

1. Ensure your video privacy settings are set to public and the video length is no longer than 4 minutes

2. Send your video, video link or YouTube URL by private message at www.facebook.com/themaneshow or to enter@themaneshow.co.uk

3. Your email MUST also include the following information, so we can link your entry with payment:

The class number
Your name
Your address
Horses name
PayPal email address

RULES

You can ride in your everyday tack & clothes, there are no bit restrictions, and you are also welcome to ride bitless
No artificial aids other than martingales are permitted
Whips and spurs are allowed
You do not need to ride in an arena
We encourage all competitors to submit different videos each month
You are welcome to enter as many classes as you like

VIDEO GUIDELINES

Your horse should remain in the centre of the video at all times
You should aim for the horse to be filling no more than half of the height of the picture where possible
Video in the best possibly quality that your device allows
Sound to be recorded
The video must remain recording continuously from just before the horse begins until after the final halt

PICTURE GUIDELINES

The picture to be close enough so that it is clear to be seen by the judge
Use in the best quality possible that your device allows
